Logo design: a unique, legible logo built to last
Your logo is often the first thing people remember about your business: on your website, a business card, a vehicle, a shop window or a social media profile. AmaZili’s graphic design studio specialises in creating logos for businesses, from start-ups to mid-sized companies, as well as redesigning existing logos.
Our commitment: a unique logo that stands out from the crowd, legible whether large or small, and delivered ready for use across all your media.
What you’ll receive
- Several creative concepts, presented and explained in detail, so you can make an informed choice;
- your final logo in colour, single-colour and negative versions, suitable for both light and dark backgrounds;
- a scaled-down version — the symbol alone — for your website icon, social media profiles and small formats;
- vector files (SVG, PDF) for the printer and images (PNG, JPG) for the web;
- a one-page usage guide: exact colours, bleed area, minimum size, and uses to avoid.
Our five-step approach
- Listening. Your business, your customers, your values, your competitors: what your logo needs to convey, and to whom.
- Research. Sketches, symbols, typefaces, colours: our graphic designers explore various directions.
- Presentation. We show you the most promising ideas in real-world contexts, and you make the choice.
- Fine-tuning. The chosen concept is refined: proportions, colours, legibility at small sizes.
- Delivery. Files, variations and a style guide, ready for your printer and your website.
A good logo, based on six criteria
- Unique: it adheres to the conventions of your industry so it’s understood, without copying your competitors.
- Legible at all sizes: from a shop sign to a browser tab icon.
- Effective in a single colour: for a stamp, an engraving or black-and-white printing.
- Simple: few elements, clean lines, without effects that quickly go out of fashion.
- Timeless: it withstands changing trends and will stand the test of time alongside your business for years to come.
- Accurate: it says something true about your business, and doesn’t promise anything it can’t deliver.
These rules are nothing new: they stem largely from heraldry, the art of coats of arms – the forerunners of our logos – characterised by few colours, geometric shapes and a highly stylised appearance.
Copyright: what you can do with your logo
A logo is a creation protected by copyright. The rights we grant you — to reproduce your logo, adapt it, print it, on which media and for how long — are set out in writing in your contract, and their scope depends on the package you choose.
Your logo cannot be modified without our consent: this is provided for by the author’s moral rights, which protect the integrity of a creative work. It also serves as a guarantee for you: your brand identity remains consistent, regardless of who reproduces it. If your logo needs to evolve, we’ll help it evolve alongside you.
Finally, do remember to protect your logo as a trade mark by registering it with the INPI: it is this registration, not copyright, that guarantees you exclusive use of it within your sector. We can guide you through this process.
Logo redesign: modernising without losing brand recognition
A logo designed fifteen years ago may have aged poorly: gradients, reflections, shadows and details that disappear on a mobile screen. Since the advent of responsive websites and then ‘flat’ design, many brands have simplified their logos in favour of clean, legible blocks of colour.
A successful redesign retains what your customers recognise — a shape, a colour, a letter — and refines the rest. Before you begin, read our post on the questions to ask yourself before redesigning your logo.
From the logo to the visual identity
The logo is the heart of your visual identity, but not the whole of it. Its colours, shapes and typefaces are then applied across your brand guidelines: stationery, website, marketing materials, social media and signage. We can support you throughout the process, ensuring your brand image remains consistent across the board.
